Joel Grey, who played the Wizard in Wicked, made a name for himself on Broadway when he originated the role of the MC in Cabaret. Which we might or might not be deep-diving soon…

We misspoke in this episode and said the name “San Francisco” interchangeably with “San Diego.” That’s what we get for living on the East Coast, right? Wicked had its out-of-town tryout in San Francisco, not San Diego.

Y’all, I took a deeper dive into the story behind Avenue Q‘s producers Tony Awards campaign that enabled them to win Best Musical over the smash hit over the season, and not only is it completely true, it is salacious. Not only did the producers run an unprecedented campaign to Tony voters- complete with a song parody on a CD sent in the mail- but they made a false announcement before the Tonys.
